स्टील के लिए कच्ची सामग्री पिग आयरन के दाम में भी 5 हजार रुपए प्रति टन की बढ़ोतरी हुई है इस संकट से पहले पिग आयरन की कीमत 47 हजार प्रति टन थी और अब 52 हजार प्रति टन हो गया है, स्पंज आयरन 35 हजार टन से बढ़कर 40 हजार टन व गिलेट 50 हजार टन से 55 हजार टन तक बिक रहा है इस बढ़ोतरी का असर वाहनों पर भी पड़ रहा है।

बिहार में लोहा कारोबारियों की मांग के अनुसार लोहे के चैनल व गार्डन खपत लगभग 5 हजार टन, स्टील सीट की खपत लगभग 15 हजार टन प्रति महीने है, यहां की फैक्ट्रियों में 1 लाख टन उत्पादन होता है जबकि जरूरत का 1 लाख टन बंगाल और झारखंड से आता है, मांग को लेकर कारोबारियों कहना है कि युद्ध की वजह से कच्चे माल पर कोई असर नहीं पड़ा लेकिन अफवाहों की वजह से कच्चे माल की कीमतों में उछाल जरूर आ रहा है जिस वजह से लोहे व स्टील के दाम में बढ़ोतरी हो रही है।
